Recession hit the b2b market. Due to recession the market of business to business media is continuously decreasing. According to the report of American Business Media’s Business Information Network the revenue of b2b media declines up to 21.2 % in the month of january 2009 in the respect of january 2008. Even b2b magazine ad pages revenue fall upto 27 % in the january 2009. The category of health care is effected most due to recession. Its ad pages fell upto 39.66%. while aerospace and military category performed best with falling of 8%. Instead the falling of revenue according to this report, ABM tells that there was some greater stability in some categories where fell of revenue is less than 5%.
Most of the publishers report that january, which is the first month of 2009 were basically tough on sales as many clients were trying to maintain therir budgets due to recession and buying goods for a very shorter terms.
Some publishers expect to seeing greater stability as they move into the second quarter, and the business holders are thinking strategically to maintain the market through the economic fall down. While there are no larger no. of reports that ensure that print ad revenue and b2b media revenue for March and April will show more stability of trending for the rest of the year.
